I do not exert myself to produce a good work. I just try to hold the brush in a proper way, in which I can pull together my intention and posture. As if I were preparing myself for a "long journey". Then I let my intention and posture lead me to a work of writing or drawing.

I try never to forget that the human nature is the deep root from which all the leaves and flowers of arts grow out. That arts are tributaries to the big river of the human nature. And that the most prescious of all artworks are "good men" and "good histories".

[Shenzi]

Easily said, but it is not easy for everybody to tell where artificiality ends and naturality begins. Yet, it is a great point that good artwork derives from sincerity, before anything else. The same sincerity with which a man makes himself a good man and a society builds up a good history.
