On the decline of a year in prison
Whatever mundane things your life may be filled with, you must not ever lose the grip on your own realm. If the time here has not disciplined me enough for that, I cannot but feel ashamed of the frailty of my will and the limits of my aptitude.
Yet October is not all over. While in it, I will tighten myself steadily, so that life in this kneeling posture will no more be so shameful.
